NEXT’s Kids Ministry is SO much more than childcare while adults have real church.

We’re dedicated to partnering with parents to engage and inspire children to love Jesus and His Word!

Children infant through 5th grade will experience intentional, Gospel-centric and age-specific activities and lessons that always point back to Jesus — because at NEXT we believe it’s all about Him!

Our mission

  • Engage and inspire children in the wonder and knowledge of the Father and his Word.
  • Model worship by praising God through singing, reading scripture, and praying.
  • Build an environment where children can create safe relationships with their peers and their leaders.
  • Partner with parents to disciple their children - teaching them about God and having spiritual conversations beyond Sundays.

What to expect

Our hope is that you find a loving and safe environment where you feel confident having your child engage in a diverse & fun children's experience as they learn about Jesus!

As you enter the building, navigation to the designated children's check-ins & classrooms are marked by specific signage to guide you and your family.

Littles (Infant - Kindergarten) rooms are on the first floor and our Kids (1st – 5th grade) rooms are on the second floor.

Your first stop will be the check-in areas. Never checked in before? No problem. A volunteer at check-in will ask for some information and give you and your child a name tag with a matching code, then, your child will be given into the care of our kind, thoroughly background-checked volunteers for the remainder of the service.

A security team closely monitors our children’s wings as well. If for any reason we need to contact you during the service, we will text the number you provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check in once I arrive?

We have check-in stations in both our Kids and Littles areas! If it is your first time visiting, we’d recommend using a manned check-in station where someone will be able to help guide you through the process.
My child is nervous—can I stay in their classroom?

Because our NEXT Kids and Littles areas are secure, only our background checked team members are permitted in the classrooms. We have an experienced team and many leaders who can make sure each child is well cared for. If your child needs your attention, we will contact you via text message.
What is your security policy?

Our Kids and Littles areas are completely secure. Upon checking-in your child, you will receive a parent tag that permits you to enter the kids area. This tag will be required to pick up your child, as well.
What do I need to drop off with my child?

If your child is still in diapers, we recommend leaving a diaper bag with diapers, a change of clothes and a bottle or cup (feel free to leave whatever else your baby might need). We encourage our elementary kids to bring a bible!
Are your volunteers background checked?

Every volunteer in our ministry is thoroughly trained and has passed a background check, regardless of role or position. We also never permit any adult to be alone with a child.
How will you get ahold of me if my child needs me?

We will text you via the number provided at check-in! If you do not respond to the text, we will follow up with a phone call and leave a detailed message.

How do I volunteer?

Our children need loving adults to help them encounter Jesus and learn Biblical truth. We invite everybody within the NEXT Community Church body to serve in the Kids & Littles Ministry!

There are many different ways you can serve in our Kid's ministry. Here are some of the areas and roles in which you can serve as a leader:

  • Small group leader
  • Large group leader
  • Nursery helper
  • Toddlers teacher or helper
  • Pre-K to Kindergarten teacher or helper
  • Check-in desk host
